TE Breitenbach was born in 1951 in Queens, New York. In 1966-68 he attended the University of Notre Dame. Proverbidioms was completed in 1975 when the artist was 24. 'Proverbidioms' the poster was first published in 1980. 'Proverbidioms' soon became America's best selling poster. It is reputed to have reached over 100 countries around the world.
